Blood and Guitars - Heather Jensen Aurora is a vampire who meets a boy Trey, whilst she is out searching for her next meal and for some reason she can’t bring herself to drink from him. After meeting Aurora, superstar lead singer Trey can’t get her out of his mind. He’s even started dreaming about her. As their relationship begins to grow Aurora is forced to hide what she really is from him, as well as hiding their relationship from the other vampires. Aurora must keep her two worlds separate or there may be devastating consequences. I really enjoyed this book, even more than I thought I would actually. Due to the massive popularity of vampire books, it is very hard to find one that doesn’t seem like one already read. I enjoyed the fact that it was the female who was the vampire and the male who was human. Whilst this was not the first book I have read that has done that, it was definitely in the minority and therefore refreshing. I believe this book has broad appeal and will be enjoyed by both teens and adults alike and also by fans of different book genres. Whilst this book is a fantasy about vampires, the fantasy element is quite light and the book is actually more dominated by the music. The romance between the two main characters is sweet, clean and engaging. I would recommend this book to fans of fantasy, romance and music based books of all ages. I look forwards to seeing what happens next for Trey and Aurora in the second of what seems to be a promising series of books.reviewed for readers favourite
